Vocational Trainers and Tutors
Lichfield, Staffordshire
£21,450 - £28,450 for Permanent Full Time Trainers and Tutors (pro-rata for fractional)
£14.66 - £21.59 per hour for Sessional Trainers and Tutors
Our client is currently the largest national Provider of Offender Learning in the UK; their highly qualified employees are fully trained in security arrangements in order for them to deliver a responsive curriculum within prisons across England 52 weeks a year.
The aim of the Directorate is to lead, manage and develop provision in order to reduce re-offending and contribute to social inclusion by providing a wealth of curricula experiences including a core curriculum of Skills for Life, Personal and Social Development and work related training.
Working within the secure estate offers a challenging but extremely rewarding environment for the right candidate.
They have two full time permanent Trainer opportunities at HMP & YOI Swinfen Hall, a male prison and young offenders institute in Swinfen, Lichfield, Staffordshire. The permanent trainer vacancies are in the subject areas of Kitchen / Bathroom Fitting and Barbering.
In addition to these permanent posts, they are also looking to attract Sessional Trainer applications in various vocational subject areas; predominantly being, but not limited to Kitchen & Bathroom Fitting, Barbering & Hairdressing, Motor Mechanics and Catering.
They are also seeking Sessional Tutor applications predominantly in the subject area of Creative Media (dance and drama) but also in areas of Literacy & Numeracy, ESOL, Personal & Social Development, Employability, Business Studies and IT.
Within these roles you will be required to develop lesson plans based around best practice and quality targets, actively contributing to development and ensuring the safeguarding of learners. Emphasis is placed trainers working in partnership with prison and probation colleagues to create a cohesive learning journey that improves employability and contributes to the reduction of re-offending.
To succeed within these roles, candidates will need to have a pragmatic and non judgmental approach to their work and the flexibility to adapt to meet learner requirements when necessary.
To be considered for the Tutor roles you must hold a teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 and be willing to gain outstanding qualifications within set timescales.
To be considered for the Trainer roles you must have a minimum of 2 years substantial vocational subject specific experience and ideally hold an A1 Assessors award and DTTLS Qualification / Or be willing to commit to gaining the relevant outstanding qualifications within agreed timescales.
